Recent Reviews for the first novel,'The Tale of Rufus'

Finally, a great fantasy novel for adults! I wasn't just reading the story, I was in it! I have never been so satisfied with the ending of a novel.
AUSTEN DUMAS - 10/10

The Tale of Rufus has an appealing atmosphere that will bring back childhood memories. The central characters are charming and likable and the reader will certainly find themselves rooting for the protagonists as the story progresses.
PORTLAND BOOK REVIEW - 3 Stars

This is a fantastic debut book by Peter Fellowes. It is George RR Martin and Tolkien all in one, gripping your attention from the very first page. I can't wait for his second book.
AMAZON REVIEW - 5/5

Fantastic wildlife based fantasy tale which will leave you looking a little closer at the bird folk in your garden. With enthralling characters and magical twists, the descriptive and imaginative story had me captivated from the very start. An amazing first novel which has me eagerly waiting for the next! Well done Mr Fellowes......the next JK Rowling in the making?
AMAZON REVIEW - 5/5

A gripping first novel from Peter Fellowes. Kept me hooked from start to finish, a must for all fans of fantasy.
AMAZON REVIEW - 5/5

I loved this book from the first page right through to the last!!!! I could not put it down, the characters are larger than life and although there are no sketchings in the book, I could envisage how all of them looked in my head, even the blacksmiths cottage came to life along with the colony and the slaves. There wasn't a character I could not visualize. A very clever art of description by Peter had me engrossed all the way through. I loved the magic and mystery involved in this and felt that I knew all the characters and they became my friends. When I go out walking now, I see lots of birds and think I wonder if that's Milo or Rufus, or Carrick and when I see the crows and rooks I think mmmmmm I know what you are capable of!!! It is a truly magical book that will stay with me for a long time, infact when I finished it I didn't know what to do with myself as they became part of my day. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who has a vivid imagination and loves magic and mystery. Come on Pete where is the next one ???
AMAZON REVIEW - 5/5

Lots of twists and turns leading to a very satisfying conclusion. I would recommend this to any fans of fantasy.
AMAZON REVIEW - 5/5

Not my normal reading material, but once started it turned into a real struggle to put down. Great characters along with an absorbing story line with lots of twists along the way. Be prepared to enter a different type of bird kingdom than the one shown by Chris Packham !
Would highly recommend and I will now be looking for other books in this style to read.

AMAZON REVIEW - 5/5

A great original story with a touch of Lord of the rings, a pinch of Harry Potter, and a flavour of Watership Down (for rabbits read birds). A gripping storyline make this a great page turner. Can't wait for Peters next book
